TPS 500 Thermal Conductivity Instrument

The Hot Disk TPS 500 is the newest Transient Plane Source Thermal Constants Analyzer. The economical TPS 500 is designed for the industrial market of today, condensing the patent TPS technology with next generation analysis software, resulting in the smartest, simplest to use transient method on the market.

The TPS 500 measures the thermal conductivity, thermal diffusivity and specific heat capacity of solids, pastes, viscous liquids and small particle powders over a temperature range of –100°C to 200°C. The TPS 500 encompasses the same accuracy and sample size flexibility as the benchmark TPS 2500 S and TPS 1500, with an emphasis on ease-of-use. The TPS 500 meets ISO Standard (ISO/DIS 22007-2:2008), with revised electronics.

The patented TPS technique is used in more than 300 laboratories world-wide, is highly appreciated for its ability to simultaneously determine thermal conductivity, thermal diffusivity and specific heat capacity from a single measurement, with limited emphasis on sample preparation. The operative simplicity of the TPS 500 and the performance achieved when using optimally designed Hot Disk sensors, makes this system a robust and ideal tool for testing of polymer composites, ceramics, metals, low viscosity liquids and small particle powders. In particular, the trademark high accuracy and precision makes the instrument suitable for QC testing.

The test & analysis software for the TPS 500 system also includes tools for automated measurements as well as automatic temperature control of external devices. The software also incorporates tools for exporting results to third-party software (MS Excel), for additional processing or statistical analysis.
